In high-speed and high frequency PCB design,We normally use multilayer PCB,actually multilayer PCB is included by etching pieces of single-sided layer or double-sided layer then laminating and adhesive. Compared with single and double layer PCB,multilayer circuit board  have a lot of advantages, especially in small volume electronic products, here are some advantages of multilayer circuit board.

First,The assembly density of multilayer circuit board is high and the volume is small. As the volume of electronic products becomes smaller and smaller, which have higher requirements for the electrical performance of PCB, therefore the demand for multilayer circuit board is also increasing.
 
Second,Multilayer circuit boards is convenient to facilitate wiring, greatly shorten the length of wiring, and shorten the connection between electronic components, which also improves the speed of signal transmission.
 
Third,For high-frequency circuits, the signal line will form a constant low impedance to the ground after add the ground wire layer, and the circuit impedance will be greatly reduced, with a good shielding effect.
 
Forth,For electronic products with high functional requirements of heat dissipation, the multi-layer circuit board can set the metal core heat dissipation layer, so as to meet the special functional needs of shielding heat dissipation.
Performance, multilayer circuit board is better than that of single and double layer circuit board, but as the layer number is higher the production costs is also increasing,the processing time is relatively longer, more complex but also on the quality inspection. In the same area of cost comparison, although multilayer cost is higher than single and double circuit board, but considering reduce the noise modulation factor, the cost difference of the two is not so obvious. With the development of technology, there are now more than 100 layer of PCB,many of them are used in aerospace instruments and medical equipment.

For multilayer circuit board the most common in four and six layer board. Commonly we see in the daily life is computer.The difference between four layer board and 6 layer board is that the middle layer, between ground wire and power layer there are additional two internal signal layer, and 6 layer board is thicker than 4 layer board. Single and double layer plate is easy to distinguish, we can find the difference with the naked eyes. Catch the board toward the light, you can find in addition to the two sides go line, the rest of the place is pervious to light. But for four layer board and six layer board, if there is no corresponding tags on lot card, it is not so easy to distinguish.

All in all, because of its design flexibility and economic superiority, electrical stable performance and reliability characteristics, multilayer circuit board now has been widely used in electronic product manufacturing
